The Workshop 1 will be held on Wednesday 18th January 2012 at Tameside Centre for Enterprise , from 9am > 12 noon .
The workshop is the first of the series devoted to the way in which innovation can help smaller companies grow and prosper.
The Innovation workshop series shows you how, using a simple step by step process, you can meet the challenges of tomorrow whilst managing those of today. You will learn how to identify issues, to generate ideas that address them and how to convert those ideas into profit.
The workshop is followed by business clinics and further support, assisting individual businesses advance through innovation.

David Auckland – Short form biography:
Professor Auckland now runs his own company, Innovation Lab. It has assisted over 150 small and medium sized companies across a full spectrum of sectors from service through product to research and development, helping them innovate and grow. He founded, and remains a director, of a number of high technology companies.
David Auckland is a Professor Emeritus at Manchester University and Visiting Professor at Salford University Business School

Robbie Muirhead – Short form biography
Early business career was spent with a number of blue chip companies – ICI, Tube Investments, BTR and T&N where he developed a flair for launching new technology products into the international market place.
In 1984 he started the first of four new businesses – all technology based, some being university spin outs. With the eventual sale of these he provided business support to spin-out business in one of the University of Manchester Business Incubators. Over a period of some 6 years he provided business support and funding expertise to 62 technology based business start-ups ranging from medical informatics to CMS software; from Aerospace Composites to Dendrochronology.
Most recently he is an executive director of 3 companies including TAAP Inc based in Pennsylvania. Throughout his entire career he has specialised in finding efficient and effective ways to get new products and services into the market place.
