Help for Growing Businesses

Help for Growing Businesses – The National High Growth Programme, Manchester Growth Hub & Tameside Centre for Enterprise

Business Coaching for Growth (BCG) – one step closer to full roll-out.

The National Coaching for Growth Consortium led by Grant Thornton, comprising Winning Pitch, Pera and Oxford innovation has signed a contract to deliver BCG and is aiming to be fully operational by March 2012.  BCG will provide small and mid-sized businesses with:

  • dedicated and structured coaching support for
  • up to 10,000 high growth potential businesses a year
  • connect businesses to other relevant forms of support such as business angel networks, UK Trade and Investment (UKTI) or the Manufacturing Advisory Service (MAS)

The programme will complement the existing mentoring scheme, Mentorsme, but differs by focusing only on high growth potential businesses and by placing the emphasis on coaching executive teams to address business issues and growth.

This service forms part of a package of support for small and mid-sized businesses, including the improved Business Link website, www.businesslink.gov.uk which provides easy-to-use information to help start up, improve or grow a business; and the mentoring portal, www.mentorsme.co.uk which provide a single point of access for those seeking mentoring and those seeking to be mentors across the UK.
